*~*Monday*~*

Melissa walked silently along with Cheyenne. Her friend was in deep discussion with Conner. When they reached their classroom, Conner waved good-bye and left them.

“ I’m so sorry Melissa, I had no idea he was going to walk me to class.” Melissa smiled. She knew that Cheyenne really was surprised because they way he had been all over Elizabeth at lunch Cheyenne had truly thought that Conner just used her as a fling.

“ It’s okay. I won’t stand in the way of love.” Melissa said with a sly grin. Cheyenne laughed.

“ Yeah right.” She said. Then she put on a very concerned face. “ Conner and I were going out and we were just fine until you came along. Cheyenne Ligon you will rue the day you took my man.” Cheyenne said with as a smile. Melissa laughed.

“ Hey, I’ll be right back okay?” Melissa said. She quickly walked to the bathroom. She checked her hair and make-up.

“ Hi Melissa.” A voice said. She looked behind her and there stood Jessica. Melissa smiled.

“ Hi Jessica.” Jessica’s face closed up with caution. “ How are you Jessica?”

“ Fine...Thanks...” She replied. “ Melissa, why are you being nice to me? Are you going to try to be my friend so you can use me for more gossip? Because if you are....”

“ No Jessica. I’m sorry about what I did. I can’t say I’m proud of it. I just loved Will so much I would have done anything to keep him. That’s the way I lost him though. I know you two will make a good couple, I guess. Later!” Melissa walked out of the bathroom. Part of her hoped that maybe her and Jessica would become friends. She had meant every word she’d said to her. Wasn’t that the first step towards forgiveness? Melissa took her seat in the back of the classroom. A note landed onto her desk. As soon as the teacher turned his back she opened it.

Look Melissa, don’t try to become friends with Jessica.

You are an evil little bitch so stay away from her!

You ruined her life once. Why can’t you just get over me!!!

--Will S.

Melissa took out her pencil. She felt hot tears spring into her eyes.

Will, what’s wrong with me having friends?

I told her I was sorry for ruining her social status.

Will, I’m sorry!!! I’m not an evil bitch! I just loved you.

I’m over you! I’ll love you forever though. Please forgive me!

--Melissa F. Your Friend Forever, if you’ll let me.

Melissa handed the note to the classmate to pass back to Will. She rubbed her eyes so she wouldn’t cry. Will had hurt her feelings. She had to find someone new. Melissa had to have someone to love.
