Jessica pulled into the Simmons' driveway feeling sad and dejected. She hated the thought that was going through her head right then. She was guilty of pretending to love someone. Jeremy was such a great guy and she blew it. Will opened her door and gestured for her to get out. She took his hand and he took her into his house. Jessica admired the glass figurines and tables placed delicately within the house.
" Are you okay?" Will asked.
" Yeah... I just feel so....."
" Awful... Just like I felt when I was without you." Will kissed Jessica and she melted in his arms. He led Jessica blindly to his room and closed the door. The final thought that graced Will's mind was that "He was finishing something he started in the beginning of the school year. Finally."

Elizabeth headed back to Lila's house. She had decided to spend the night with Jessica. She couldn't wait to have one of their sister-chat sessions. She knew Jessica would be thrilled to hear she was back with Conner.
" Liz, so glad you're here. Your dad and I miss you so much." Mrs. Wakefield said.
" I miss you all too. Where's Jess?"
" I don't know I haven't heard from her. We all went to Jeremy's house for this big surprise dinner they had planned. Jessica had went out to get some sodas and never came back. Jeremy went looking for her, I was worried sick, so your father and I came back here just in case Jessica was here changing clothes or something."
" So you haven't heard from her since?" Elizabeth said as her heart started thundering in her mind. She became very scared for her sister.
" No, we haven't."Elizabeth panicked. She went upstairs and threw herself upon Jessica's bed. She heard a phone ring and realized it was in Lila's room. Elizabeth leaned against the wall to listen.
" Hi Todd!" Lila's voice echoed. " I'm fine." She continued. Then Lila made a very agitated sound. " Hold on a second Todd, I've got another call....Hello? Jessica what do you want?" Elizabeth breathed a huge sigh of relief then continued to listen. " Sure, but just this once." Lila said snottily. Elizabeth dropped back off the wall. After a minute she heard footsteps inching towards Jessica's room.
" Hi Elizabeth. Jessica is on the phone, she wants to speak to you." Lila said. Elizabeth reached out for the cordless phone.
" Jess?"
" Hi Liz."
" Where are you? Are you okay? Where have you been? Mom and Dad have been worried sick."
" I'll explain all that later."
" Why did you call on Lila's line?
" Because....if Mom and Dad knew where I was they'd kill me.
" What's wrong Jess? Why are you talking so low?"
" Because I have to.... Will's asleep."
" W-what?"
" I fell in love with him all over again...I don't know what happened but I know I love him. Don't worry I feel extremely bad about Jeremy."
" Jess, how could you?"
" Liz, let me finish that's not all I did..." Elizabeth's eyes widened in alarm.
" What did you do Jessica?"
" I....slept...with....." Elizabeth didn't even wait for the last word to come out. She threw the phone down as hot tears came to her eyes. How could Jessica do that?

Lila Fowler....All About Me..... When I was a little girl, I had everything, lately I've been reading the Bible and going to church... I've learned that rich people are blind. Though they have many things they are not happy...
Lila stared at the screen of her new computer. Todd had set it up and got her back connected to the Internet. She was writing her autobiography so she could have her deepest thoughts, memories, and experiences somewhere so she could turn to them and remember the time when she realized what the value of money was. It wasn't worth anything. The thought, "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" suddenly graced her mind. Lila stood up and knocked on Jessica's door. She heard a shuffle and then a low voice say, "Come in."
" Jess? Liz?"
" Liz."
" Oh, I'm sorry Elizabeth I couldn't see with the lights off. Do you mind if I turn them on?"
" Um, no." Lila clapped her hands and the lights illuminated the room and Elizabeth's tear stained face. Lila's heart pounded in fear. What is wrong with Liz?
" Liz, what's wrong?"
" What do you care Lila? It's partly your fault this happened."
" What? You mean about Jessica?"
" Oh so you already know?"
" Yeah, the whole school knows about that. I'm sorry. I wish I would have done something to stop that."
" You couldn't have. You weren't even talking to her when it happened!"
" Yes I was. I just didn't say anything when I had the chance."
" Huh? You knew she was going to do this?"
" What? I knew she liked Will, but she really didn't know he had a girlfriend."
" Huh?"
" Huh what?"
" What are you talking about?"
" I wanted to apologize for not sticking up for my best friend when I had the chance."
" So you don't know about.... what happened just now?"
" No.... Is she alright?"
" She's fine I guess --" At that moment Jessica burst into the room.
" Liz, I'm so sorry!" Then Jessica saw Lila. Lila stood up and cautiously neared Jessica.
" What's going on? You're on their side now Liz?"
" No Jess." Jessica hand reached out for the door.
" Jess, don't go! Let me explain!"
" No Liz, I'm sick of everybody wanting to explain!! I do one stupid thing and you go and become her friend! I knew a whole lot of people were back stabbers," Jessica said sending an evil glare towards Lila," But, I never believed my own sister was one of them." Jessica turned and ran out the room. A tear slid down Lila's cheek as she hurried after Jessica. She almost reached her, but just as Lila neared the Jeep, Jessica took off.

Maria slumped against her limp pillow. She scribbled down in her beloved pink notebook every thought that graced her mind. So far her thoughts were:
Why do Elizabeth and Jessica have to get all the attention!
Am I not pretty?
Is it me?? Or am I fighting a battle I can't win.
What should I do?
A tear slid down Maria's cheek. She leaned back against her headboard and held her pillow tighter. Maria began to think of all those moments she had shared with Conner before he began to avoid her. He had been sweet. Then she remembered Christopher, a guy she had met on a trip to visit her cousin, Denise, in Florida. She knew he loved her truly and had used him to take her out. Then when her visit had nearly ended she realized she was in love with him. The point was, she had all her confidence and she was playing "The Game." She wasn't letting him tell her what to do, she wasn't scared of him criticizing her every word/movement. She had spirit then. Then she realized how timid and shy she had been around Conner.
" That's why I lost him." Maria spoke aloud. Her heart sent her another message, to make-up with Elizabeth.... Maria jotted down her last couple of thoughts.
To Do List for Maria Slater
1. Make-up with Elizabeth
2. Play "The Game" no matter how much I love him. Even if it's not with Conner.
